Creating an Ultimate Intention Statement

Before you start on any journey you must first know your intended destination. Maybe that destination is just, “drive south until I can’t drive any further”. You still have a goal that will bring you to a very different place than if you have the goal of, “Kansas City, Utah”.

You must know where you want to be if you hope to get there. Your conscious mind and subconscious mind must both know where it is that you want to go, and they must be in agreement that this is a desirable place to be. Sometimes, the conscious mind wants one thing and the subconscious mind believes that thing is dangerous. This is a huge topic that I’ll be talking all about on this blog, but for now, let’s focus on the ultimate intention statement.

In this article, I’ll use the example of a relationship because most people just expect that a relationship will work, without even knowing what their intentions are in that relationship! If you don’t have a clear idea of what you want the relationship to be like, then your relationship will be moody because it will move in whatever direction you move toward on that day. It’ll probably change with your own moods.

You’ve probably experienced this in one or all of the relationships that you’ve had. This moodiness manifests in small and big ways. It can seem like one day the two of you are getting along well and you’re happy and loving toward one another, and then the next day suddenly you feel distant and hurt and rejected, and you may even argue.  The reason that relationships experience moods like this is because human beings are moody creatures and if we allow ourselves to be guided and governed by our moods, and our external world, relationships inc;used, will reflect that.

If you want to have a successful relationship, you can hope for one, or you can take responsibility and formulate a clear idea of what you want the relationship to be and especially what you want it to feel like. This is true of all of the areas of your life, but in relationships it’s especially helpful because there are lots and lots of feelings.

Deciding what you want the goals in your life to feel like is, in my opinion, much more important in determining the quality of your life than the numbers. There are many people who have had the goal of making a million dollars and they reached that goal and were miserable and didn’t know why. There are many people who write goals including feelings, and they might say something like: “I want to make $1,000 per month doing something that really lights me up inside”. Maybe they only end up making $900 a month, but they love what they’re doing.

I’m not saying to have small goals. I am saying that the feelings that you want meeting the goals to bring is actually the goal itself. Everything that you think you want to have, you actually want to have because you think that having it means that you will feel a certain way.

Choose to allow your feelings guide you and govern your behaviors. However, I don’t mean that if your marriage feels bad right now, leave. I’m suggesting that you take responsibility for everything in your life, within you and outside of you. If you want love and closeness in your marriage, well, take it on as your role to bring love and closeness.

This may be challenging at first, to stop expecting anything from life and to start bringing energy to life instead. It’s hard to remember to do it, and it’s hard to do this when you’re not in a great mood. We’ll get to these two things in a minute.

Here’s how to create ultimate intention statements around your goals:

  1. Look at your list of goals, choose the most important ones and determine how you want each one to make you feel upon achieving it.
  2. Use the best language possible. Words are incredibly powerful. Don’t just say, “I want to feel good”, use the best word possible to describe the highest state possible. “I want to feel blissful and in love with life”, is so much better. Whatever words you used to describe your intended emotions, replace them with even more intensely positive words.
  3. Create a sentence that weaves in the feeling feeling words with your goals, and changes the goal so that it is in the present tense. “I want to make a million dollars”, becomes, “I joyfully make a million dollars doing what I really love to do everyday”.
  4. Shift this to put yourself in the driver’s seat completely by adding the emotion that you will bring to the world, to your relationship, to your children etc. while achieving this goal. “I joyfully make a million dollars doing what I really love to do everyday”, becomes “I joyfully make a million dollars doing what I really love to do everyday and I bring joy to the world through this work”.
  5. Write these statements down in a place where you can look at them often. I have them on my phone.

If you write your goals down and never read them, they are useless. I read them three times every day and I’ve heard of people re-writing them every day to embed them in the subconscious. Both of these approaches work.

I’ll be writing a blog post here every day to help you to grow spiritually. Tomorrow I’ll write about how you can embed these goals into the subconscious, so come back tomorrow for a fresh idea to upgrade your mind/body/spirit/life!

By the time I became a Reiki Master and a Law of Attraction Coach, I'd been passionately studying and practicing the chakra system, the energy body, yoga, meditation, metaphysics and the law of attraction for over 20 years. I'm currently studying to be a yoga instructor as well. These things are not just a passion, but a deep love and possibly even obsession. They are what my life is made of. I've always wanted to share my learnings and my experiences that could help others, but I wanted to KNOW that I had something valuable to share. Now I know. I have created a formula hat I have learned over twenty after much experimentation and observation. I've had amazing success. I believe that although at first one may need some tools such as exercises and techniques, eventually meditation, yoga, law of attraction, chakra work and just energy work in general so becomes habitual. It becomes a part of one's being. I've seen people in awe, over and over again, at how their lives change miraculously for the better once they start using the tools and making it a part of their every day life. I feel that, while everyone may have a different way of applying and practicing these things in their lives, it's unnecessary to reinvent the wheel. I've struggled with being effective while using the Law of Attraction, and I've failed more than once. I've had many chakra work sessions that felt empty and many meditations that felt like a complete waste of time. I've made the mistakes so you don't have to waste so much time and energy figuring it out. I am so passionate about helping people because I believe that a peaceful, prosperous and enlightened society begins with peaceful, prosperous and enlightened individuals. I may not have all the answers, but I do have a formula that has worked miraculously well for me and for the clients I've worked with.
